With some tuition I have overcome my fear of body mutilation from electrical tools, (probably due to watching a technician almost saw his thumb off on an electric saw at college) and have embarked on a new series of woodcuts YEY.

So, the title: Beach Spirits....a project and body of work initiated in the beginning with my Finnish mentee, Emmi

and the inspiration:

bit of help from Madeleine to set the press up for printing a woodcut, it is really an etching press

When the light is good I will post my first embossment from this, really pleased it's looking really great.

Emmis' Box for sam&sues' shell book

This wonderful prototype origami box made by Emmi from two A4 sheets. We scanned the lithographic print used inside the shell book and then modified the colour as a print surface for the lid of the box.

Mentoring and Thirty Minutes Books

I am so lucky to have a helper in my studio at the moment, Emmi Tuomola from Finland. We have a busy schedule working on the artist books I am preparing for sam&sues' participation at the 'Turning the Page' book fair in Norwich on May 2nd and 3rd.

Emmi and I are aiming to produce a series of thirty minute books throughout her months stay.
